Thanks a million for volunteering to create videos: your videos will inspire poets
around the world to write about your topics.
We will actively promote and create links to your videos from June 2011 onwards.
Before You Start
By emailing your video
you give permission for it to be edited, distributed and promoted
widely. You should include your name as you wish to be credited on the
finished video. If you are under
18 you must include the name and contact details of parent/guardian granting
permission for you to participate.
Direction
Be relaxed, casual and happy. Stay in the middle of shot. The script is not written in stone
it's just a guide; feel free to change words etc. Where there’s a word cloud choose a word or use one of your own with a similar meaning. Each vid should be
around 30 seconds.
Technical Information
Filename:
Save each 30-second video individually as Acrostic-Poem-Or-Backronym-For-[Topic]-by-[your
name to credit] e.g. Acrostic-Poem-Or-Backronym-For-Love-By-Mary-Kingsley.
Video Format: Ideally, save your videos as QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files. MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 640x480 resolution (640 pixels width x 480 height) with MP3 audio is fantastic but
we can edit most formats so don’t struggle.
If your 30 second video filesize is huge (over 5mb or 5000kb)
download one of these free
video converters. If your email provider prevents you sending large files
we recommend getting a googlemail (gmail) account- email us for an invitation
when your videos are ready to send.
Sending your videos
Email videos
as attachments to
joglabdotcom@gmail.com in sets of 5 making your subject line “Video
by [your name as it should appear in credits]”. In the email please
list the topics you have made video for.
Pre-edit Example
Video File Name: AcrosticPoemOrBackronymForDragonByMiriamBabooram
This video is pre-edit,
it is an example of what you should aim for in your own
videos for topics replacing 'Dragon'.
Note: leave some room around you for the various elements to be placed (see
image of completed video below).
